Dear NW TURN Colleagues,
Mindful of the concerns about the coronavirus (COVID-19) we made the hard decision to cancel our March 20-21, 2020 Northwest Turn Conference. In making this decision we acknowledged the recommendations of the King County Health Department’s and our hosting organization, the Washington Education Association to “cancel all non-essential meetings”. CEC will be returning any checks we have received for the NW TURN conference registration fees.
We invite you to complete the short survey by clicking on this survey link to determine if we might create some virtual conferencing opportunities that would provide E-Learning options to address the topics we had planned to examine at our NW TURN Conference, such as: collaboration, equity issues in schools and social emotional learning. Further we need your thoughts on the best time for our conference next fall.
While postponing our conference is disappointing for all of us, we would like to encourage you to consider attending the California LMI Summer Institute on June 23-24 and Pre-Conference on June 22, 2020, at the Double Tree by Hilton San Diego Mission Valley in San Diego, CA. The Summer Institute is an opportunity to convene with your labor-management team to learn from other districts, share insights, reflect on the past work and plan your work for the coming year. The conference will feature concurrent workshop sessions and presentations by labor management teams that have made significant strides by making collaborative partnerships a priority over the past few years. Stay tuned for registration information coming soon!
Thank you and stay healthy!
